Physician-supervised
weight loss.

GLP-1 receptor agonists prescribed only after a full metabolic evaluation. No drive-thru shots. No blanket protocols. Treatment when the labs, comorbidities, and clinical picture support it — under continuous physician oversight.

Our approach

A metabolic workup — not a checkbox questionnaire.

GLP-1s are powerful metabolic drugs. They belong in a program that measures glucose regulation, thyroid safety markers, and cardiovascular status before, during, and after treatment — not a website that ships a pen and disappears.

01

Eligibility & intake

Confirm BMI, comorbidities (type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, PCOS, sleep apnea), medication history, and personal/family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2 — both hard contraindications for GLP-1 receptor agonists.

02

Metabolic labs

Fasting glucose, HbA1c, lipid panel, comprehensive metabolic panel, TSH, and a baseline lipase. If you're male and interested, we can add a full androgen panel — some patients qualify for combined metabolic + hormone optimization.

03

Physician evaluation

A licensed Aurafil physician reviews your intake, labs, and goals — then decides whether a GLP-1 protocol is clinically appropriate for you. Prescriptions are never guaranteed. If it's not the right fit, we say so.

04

Ongoing oversight

Monthly check-ins, weight and side-effect tracking, dose titration on a real schedule (not a rush to the max dose), and repeat labs to catch pancreatitis signals, thyroid changes, or gallbladder issues early.

Who this is for

GLP-1s aren't for everyone — and we won't pretend otherwise.

Likely a fit
  • BMI 30+ (Class I obesity or above)
  • BMI 27+ with at least one weight-related comorbidity (type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, PCOS, sleep apnea)
  • Have tried lifestyle interventions but weight isn't moving
  • Willing to do the labs and follow-ups — this is medicine, not a subscription box
  • No personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2
Not a fit
  • Pregnant, breastfeeding, or actively trying to conceive
  • Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2
  • History of pancreatitis or active gallbladder disease
  • BMI under 25 with no metabolic comorbidities (this is aesthetic weight loss — not what these drugs are designed for)
  • Type 1 diabetes without endocrinologist co-management
  • Under 21 or outside the United States
The honest part

Real weight loss with real trade-offs.

What the evidence shows

GLP-1 receptor agonists produce clinically meaningful weight loss for most patients who tolerate them — the STEP trials (semaglutide) and SURMOUNT trials (tirzepatide) put average weight loss between 15% and 22% of body weight over 68–72 weeks, with the largest effects at the highest tolerated doses. Cardiovascular outcomes have improved in patients with obesity and pre-existing heart disease in the SELECT trial. This class of drug is a genuine therapeutic advance.

What we won't tell you

That side effects are trivial. Nausea, constipation, and reflux are common — sometimes bad enough to stop treatment. Pancreatitis and gallbladder events are rare but real. Weight regain after discontinuation is the rule, not the exception, unless you build sustainable habits during treatment. Muscle loss during rapid weight loss is under-discussed — we monitor for it and adjust. If you want a shot without a plan, we're not the clinic for you.

Medical disclaimer. This page is for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, a diagnosis, or a prescription. GLP-1 receptor agonists are prescription medications with a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors based on animal studies. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain. Rare but serious side effects include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney injury, hypoglycemia (especially when used with insulin or sulfonylureas), and diabetic retinopathy complications in patients with type 2 diabetes. Do not use if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2. Always consult a licensed physician before starting any prescription therapy. Aurafil Health services are available only in states where our physicians are licensed — availability confirmed during intake.
